Change

I woke up to the falling of leaves by my window.

A season has come to an end.
Perhaps, this was when I decided…
I hate change.
People we love, shouldn’t stop loving us.
That can’t be real, can’t be true…
Love.
Change.
I hate the way it breaks us.
What we thought we had
Is lost…
Forever.
Yes, I hate change.

The way it tears open your wounds.
That you thought had healed.
The way it makes you cry
Over what can never be again.
Never.
Yes, this is my life.
So full, ever so full of…
Change.
I love, I learn, I lose.
And it hurts. But life…
Goes on.
Maybe, in the end, it’s better…
Better to heal, better to love…
Forever.
See, without the change…
There would be no love.
No life.
So, as I stare out my window, I accept…
Change.
Without it,
Love couldn’t teach lessons,
And we couldn’t learn how, the process of…
Moving on.
My life is built on change.
The good, the bad, through pain…
Through tears, would be
My life summed up, as I watch the leaves…
Fall down like my dreams…it seems
Impossible.
To even think, to even dream of a world without…
Change.

Hey sis, like the poem. Sums up some of my feelings on the topic as well, except I don't really feel all that sad about change (but then, mine is just moving, yours is a relationship, which hurts a lot more). However, there's still the classic Shakespeare quote, "Better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved at all" (or something along those lines...)

that was pretty deep krissi. remember that there's one man you can fall in love with who will never stop loving you. His name is Jesus Christ. He will never change.
